Amy Lou Adams, full name Amy Lou Adams (born 20 August 1974 Aviano Italy), American actress. She is known for her naive roles that are engaging and relatable. Adams is born in Italy while her father served as a soldier in the U.S. military and she grew up in Castle Rock Colorado as one of seven kids. The actress began acting and dancing professionally in the mid-1990s with Boulder Dinner Theatre, and later at the Country Dinner Playhouse. After that, she joined the regional theater in Minnesota which was where she got her first role in a documentary mock-up concerning beauty pageants Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). After making her screen debut as a cute but serious contestant, she relocated towards Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She was the wife of the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 to September 1962 and she was the mom of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's career in film began in the mid- 1940s, after she was accepted by MGM. Her name was noticed by Norma shearer. Over the course of the 1960s, she appeared in a variety of films, such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho as well as Living It Up.
