Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 for an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics coach who would become Comaneci's coach later on found her around the age of six. She first competed in the national junior championships of 1969 placing 13th and she won the competition in 1970. In her 1972 first international competition in a preolympics junior competition for countries in the Communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975 she was named the all-around Junior Champion. At her first competitive event at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals as well as one silver. In 1976, she became the first female athlete in the world to use a backwards-double salto to dismount from the parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began as an entertainment professional as a teenager in which she was a part of a figure skating duo with their sibling Nina Wayne for the travelling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her career in the entertainment business when she was a teenager. Her career began by joining her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling show of entertainment. Ice Capades was a show that featured skaters ice skating with actors.
