Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four children, was born on August 8, 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. The parents of Audrey Tautou as a dentist and a teacher, recognized and supported their daughter's passion for theater and drama at an early stage. Their support was more than enough to thwart her initial ambition to be a primatologist. The rise of her as an actor in the young age was quick and marked by early success. In 1998 after her studies, she took part in the French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers that was supported by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to launching the journey to become an actor. Tautou attended the Institut Catholique de Paris, was a churchgoer as a young girl and was educated Catholic. However she is now separating herself from this background. As well as her acting profession, she pursued a modeling career. She is also the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is sometimes referred to as the Chanel Muse. A keen photographer, she produced a recent exhibition at The Arles International Festival that was titled Superficial. Her work is focused on celebrities as well as the fame. It also features a series self-portraits and a special focus on journalists who have closely scrutinized Tautou following her rapid popularity following Amelie. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and global fame after her first major role starring as a lead character in The Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Pouulain. Amelie was a box-office international success, and received accolades during awards ceremonies across the globe. The film is still the highest-grossing French film of the French language in the US. The film's success led to a huge increase in production. Tautou starred in a variety of films, such as British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. Also, she starred with Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
